Hours are Monday-Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM with overtime as needed


Duties Include:

Operate and monitor various Lathe CNC machines and machining centers.

Operate equipment to perform cutting, drilling, reaming, tapping, boring and grinding machine operations over a wide range of surfaces, diameters and depths.

Recognize, report and correct errors. Record production deviations and other notations necessary to produce and improve a high-quality product.

Work from detailed, involved part drawings and/or specifications.

Perform quality checks on parts produced to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.

Assist other operators when needed.

Basic cleaning and maintenance of equipment.

Recognize, report and correct errors. Record production deviations and other notations necessary to produce and improve a high-quality product.

Work with production supervisor and other personnel in a cooperative, collaborative and cost-effective manner.

Continually suggest and assist the production supervisor with implementing department and process improvements to increase overall quality and productivity.

Arrange, mount and secure tooling and fixtures. Locate/support/secure work piece in absence of fixturing.

Set stops and calibrate fixturing to appropriate reference points.

Manual cycle machine through operator sequence to check fixture/work positions, tooling, clearances, speed and feeds.

Make adjustments and recalibrations as needed.

Requirements

Demonstrated Lathe CNC Operator and set-up experience required.

Mazak equipment knowledge, set-up or programming experience a plus.

Strong mechanical aptitude with experience reading shop orders and blueprints with the ability to understand and utilize this technical information.

Ability to successfully read and utilize inspection and measuring instruments (caliper, micrometer, protractor and ruler) and hold tolerance per specifications on drawing.

Industrial math skills (to understand product dimensions and setup procedures).

Requires being able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Technical certification a plus.
