Finance Director
- Expired: over a month ago. Applications are no longer accepted.
Helen Gym is a former schoolteacher, a mom, longtime community organizer, and a City Councilmember who is working to make Philadelphia safer by investing in youth, families, and communities. She’s led the charge to change how we respond to our public safety crisis, fighting for stronger gun laws to get dangerous weapons off our streets, investing in diversion programs for at-risk youth, and helping to launch the first non-policing mental health crisis unit so people can get a mental health first responder to meet their needs and the police can focus on preventing violent crimes. She has a record of taking on powerful interests to fight for Philadelphians. Her work has earned praise from the Biden White House and a national award from EMILY’s List. In 2019, Councilmember Gym was the top vote-getter in the City Council At-Large race, earning nearly 40 percent more votes than her closest competitor, a self-funded millionaire. Of the city’s 66 political wards, she finished first in 55.
