Designer Drafter

Position: Designer/Drafter

Pay Rate: $70,000+ depending on experience

Location: Tracy, CA

Schedule: Monday – Friday; 7:30am – 330pm

Job Description:

Our client, the nation’s leader in on-site medical waste treatment equipment, is in need of a Designer / Drafter capable of assisting our Design Team with virtual modeling and administrative duties. Under the guidance of our Design Manager, the Designer / Drafter will be responsible for a variety of tasks such as modeling and drawing existing components and assemblies of our machines, processing Engineering Change Requests (ECR’s), and maintaining our SolidWorks Product Data Management (PDM) server.

This position requires a potential candidate to be capable of devoting time to multiple tasks during the day and diverting focus to more important tasks when requested to do so.

To help us keep up with the increasing demand for our equipment, we are hiring a Designer / Drafter with the following qualifications:

A strong candidate will:

• Demonstrate proficiency in SolidWorks modeling software
  • Sheet Metal and Weldment Tools within SolidWorks are used extensively
• Demonstrate ability to interpret drawings and convey elements therein to shop personnel
• Understand basic shop tools and equipment used during fabrication of steel structures and sheet metal paneling
• Understand material science and properties affecting the design of a component
• Understand fasteners and appropriate incorporation to assemblies
• Demonstrate effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills

Secondary Skills:

• Understanding of AutoCAD software
• SolidWorks Rendering Tool
• Knowledge of OSHA and ADA requirements for raised platforms, handrails, guard rails, stairs, etc.

Education:

There is no education requirement for this position provided the candidate meets the above qualifications. However, work experience is preferred without proof of a post-secondary degree.
