Job Description

The Supervisor, Community Health Center (CHC) will assist and support the manager with day-to-day programmatic and operational activities. S/he will focus on ensuring patients receive the highest quality of health care by supporting the mission, vision, and values of Heartland Health Centers, and will comply with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and all other regulatory standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains role as Medical Assistant or Patient Support Specialist with supervisory duties.
  • Assists with providing staff oversight: assigning and directing work, providing feedback and appraising performance, addressing complaints, affecting disciplinary actions with the CHC Manager’s approval.
  • Assists with training, supervising and evaluating new front-line staff at assigned locations.
  • Assists with managing time off requests, ensuring adequate coverage to support workload.
  • Assures staff are following regulatory guidelines for vaccine safety with proper storage and handling of vaccines, including appropriate record keeping of vaccine administration, maintenance, and inventory.
  • Ensures front line staff are following established customer service goals and AIDET.
  • Monitors equipment and clinical logs to ensure daily, weekly, monthly obligations are performed and maintenance.
  • Collaborates with the CHC Manager and appropriate Site Leader to resolve issues of concern to ensure optimal patient and staff satisfaction.
  • Monitors facility cleaning and maintenance including making sure all medical and office equipment are operative and arranging for immediate repair, when necessary.
  • Performs monthly environment of care assessments.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and three years of related experience required.
  • Prior supervisory experience in a healthcare or social service agency strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual skills may be required depending upon the language needs of the population served.
  • Ease and accommodation of variations with respect to accents, dialects and non- English-speaking consumers required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to work with patients, employees, and visitors.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
