MHA Solutions Inc. (Solutions), a division of MHA, focuses on developing services and relationships to provide resources for the challenging healthcare issues providers face today. Solutions oversees two member-owned strategic partnerships, one of which is HPIC, which is owned and governed by its policyholder members. Formed in 2003 as a licensed reciprocal insurance company domiciled in South Carolina, HPIC was established with the intent of building an actuarially sound program to provide competitive insurance products for MHA-member hospitals, associated nursing facilities and sponsored physician subscribers. In 2016, it was re-licensed as a South Carolina traditional reciprocal insurance company with the South Carolina Department of Insurance and also became licensed in Mississippi. Its mission has remained focused on providing innovative and cost-effective insurance solutions to assist in safeguarding the assets of its owners while supporting the delivery of quality healthcare. Long-term financial stability, membership ownership and governance, and quality healthcare service are the three primary pillars of this organization. Today, HPIC provides risk management services and insurance coverages (general liability, workers’ compensation and professional liability) to more than 50 MHA hospitals and 500 physicians. MHA Solutions Insurance Agency was established to provide a full suite of property and casualty products for the medical industry.
