POSITION SUMMARY The senior accountant will primarily be responsible for all aspects of revenue accounting in accordance with ASC606. This role includes but not limited to the revenue recognition accounting methodologies, processes, policies, and analytics. The candidate will analyze and interpret statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, trends and other matters impacting the overall operations of the company.
This position is a direct report to the Controller and is a vital part of the month-end close process. Responsibilities will also include the preparation of general ledger account reconciliations, reviewing or preparing journal entries, preparing financial statements, support audit requirements, assisting with the annual budgeting process and all other special projects or task assigned by the Controller. GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS Education / Experience Requirements: · Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required. · Active CPA license required. · Healthcare industry experience required. · Six or more years of experience in accounting. · Advanced MS Excel skills · Excellent verbal and written communication skills. · Proficient with general ledger systems and other analytical tools. · Strong critical thinking/ analytical ability. · Ability to consistently meet deadlines and prioritize tasks; work efficiently with minimal supervision Preferred Knowledge: Familiarity with Oracle NetSuite and Power BI Familiarity with 3rd Party Medical Billing System Public accounting experience Essential Duties and responsibilities: · Maintain a professional working relationship with employees and all departments. · Follow and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and systems of internal control. · Strong understanding of US GAAP and application. · Oversee and perform various complex account analyses and reconciliation. · Review and prepare the reconciliations of the general ledger accounts · Uses statistical, economic, and financial principles and techniques to prepare reports. · Prepares various financial documents for compliance with regulations. · Facilitate the orderly file system of permanent records for adherence to record retention policy. · Analyze and present on sales performance results and make recommendations for improvement. · Participate in meetings and on committees as requested · Performs other duties as assigned. Physical Demands/Work Environment Requirements Must have ability to perform occasional walking, and the ability to lift 15 pounds. Vision, hearing, speech, movements requiring the use of wrists, hands and/or fingers.
Must have the ability to view a computer screen for long periods and the ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Must have the ability to work the hours and days required to complete the essential functions of the position, as scheduled. Mental Demands Learning, thinking, concentration and the ability to work under pressure, particularly during busy times. Must be able to pay close attention to detail and be able to work as a member of a team to ensure excellent customer service.
Must have the ability to interact effectively with co-workers and customers, and exercise self-control and diplomacy in customer and employee relations’ situations. Must have the ability to exercise discretion as well as appropriate judgments when necessary.
