JOB TITLE: Electronics Technician

EMPLOYEE STATUS: Hourly, non-exempt

PURPOSE: Responsible for the facility's overall maintenance, equipment, and tasks assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.



  1. Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on production, support, and facilities equipment.
  2. Troubleshoots issues with production, support, or facilities equipment.
  3. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment automation.
  4. Identifies opportunities for maintenance improvements or activities during inspections or daily Gemba walks.
  5. Identifies parts that are required to perform maintenance and communicate stock outages to maintenance support personnel.
  6. Inspect, advise, perform and/or schedule repairs on equipment and facility.
  7. Inspect, advise, perform and/or schedule building maintenance and repairs.
  8. Performs setup on equipment to assist production personnel.
  9. Promptly confer with the immediate supervisor of any problems that may arise in carrying out the above responsibilities.
  10. Repair and fabricate jigs and devices for production.
  11. Perform basic electrical tasks, including troubleshooting equipment.
  12. Maintain and troubleshoot building safety controls


1) Must understand and comply with all relevant local and national safety codes.

2) Clearly understands and complies with local and national lockout/tagout procedures.


1) Maintain a valid North Carolina driver's license and be approved by HVO's insurance carrier.

2) Minimum of one-year related experience in automated equipment and /or industrial maintenance.

3) Associate with NC electrical license may earn preferred compensation

4) One year of machine shop experience, including welding and cutting.

5) Must have demonstrated mechanical and electrical aptitude

6) Ability to use hand tools

7) Associate may be on an on call schedule


Regularly required to stand for long periods; repeat the same movements; use hands to handle, control, feel objects, tools, or controls; frequent bending or twisting; frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying heavy objects and frequent walking, stooping, reaching.


1) Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required

2) Two years of experience in a manufacturing environment, or relevant experience in another field may be considered
