Hawks View Winery located in Sherwood, is just 45 minutes from downtown Portland and at the gateway of the Willamette Valley wine country. Specializing in estate grown wines from our 45-acre property, we cater to our local community and offer tasting rooms with extended hours and breathtaking views. Summary:

The General Manager will develop, train, lead and manage the day-to-day efforts of the Winery’s front of the house for Direct to Consumer (DTC) wine sales, Wine Club memberships, tastings and food pairing sales. The Manager’s mission is to deliver an exceptional guest service experience for members and guests, resulting in strong sales, profit generation, long term engagement, and brand loyalty. The General Manager will manage the Tasting Room, Wine Club, Marketing, Culinary staff, Maintenance and Janitorial departments. The General Manager will report to the Managing Partner.

Compensation: 80k + up to 15k in Potential Bonus Based on Performance

Key Performance Indicators:

• Increase the Wine Club sign ups.
• Manage hourly direct labor and sales per labor hour.
• Manage Net Tasting Room Revenue.
• Manage to Net Operating Income.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Direct the sale of wine in the tasting room and online store.
• Direct the sale of new wine club memberships.
• Ensure consistent and appropriate brand messaging, effectively reflecting the company’s values.
• Develop and direct retention efforts for wine club memberships.
• Achieve or surpass monthly and annual tasting room sales and revenue goals.
• Work in conjunction with the Wine Club Manager to maximize and grow the wine club and other direct to consumer sales channels.
• Understand and enforce the Hawks View values and service standards.
• Hire, train, develop, schedule, supervise, evaluate, and manage performance and any conflicts with the sales team.
• Provide leadership, direction and motivation to staff to foster a productive, efficient and positive work and sales environment.
• Train staff on brand, product, sales techniques, promotions, service recovery, procedures, point of sales system and reservation systems.
• Supervise the execution of private functions with scheduling, staffing, set up/tear down, oversight and communication.
• Ensure adherence to human resources policies, accounting and inventory procedures.
• Maintain an inviting, organized, clean and fully stocked facility at all times.
• Multi-task and manage own time efficiently to assure deadlines are met.

You will be a Candidate for this Position if you have the Following:

• At least 10 years’ experience in customer service related to Restaurant management, DTC sales, hospitality, wine, food or retail sales.
• At least 5 years’ experience supervising teams of 15 or more.
• A passion for and sound knowledge of wine.
• Ability to provide an unsurpassed level of customer service.
• A history of prior proven sales ability.
• The ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
• The ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• The ability to train, develop and motivate a team of servers, bussers, and barbacks.
• The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• The ability to resolve conflict and provide honest, respectful coaching.
• The ability to demonstrate strong computer skills and knowledge of point-of-sale systems.
• The ability to confidently handle confidential and sensitive information.
• The ability and willingness to stand for long periods of time.
• The ability and willingness to obtain OLCC server’s permit and follow health and food safety protocol.
• The ability and willingness to lift items up to 40 lbs. (Case of wine)
