Hawaii Pacific Parks Association at Haleakala National Park seeks a full-time Sales/Interpretation Associate for our stores at the Summit of Haleakala. Work in a majestic location, serving the parks, protecting the ʻāina, and promoting Hawaiian culture. We are a nonprofit organization. Your work as a Sales/Interpretation Associate directly contributes to Maui's national park programs such as endangered species preservation, resource management, interpretive programs and much more. Your role's purpose is inspire, connect and preserve through the sale of interpretive products and engaging with park visitors.
- Connect the visitors experience to the park by helping them select from our wide range of products
- Promote Membership acquisition
- Process sales transactions efficiently
- Receive and process freight deliveries
- Daily cleaning and merchandising
- Share your extensive knowledge of Haleakala National Park with visitors and teammates
- Assist in all areas of retail as needed
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in sales, customer service, or related field
- Familiarity with point of sale and inventory processes
- Use of computers and basic programs including Word and Excel
- Ability to build rapport with clients
- Knowledge of Hawaiian Culture

Who We Are
HPPA is a nonprofit cooperating association working in partnership with the National Park Service in Hawaiʻi and American Samoa. Proceeds from our park stores support interpretation, educational programs, research projects, publications, and cultural activities. Our core purpose is to inspire visitors and to foster meaningful connections to the parks—for the preservation and enjoyment of the parks forever—all with a spirit of aloha.
To accomplish this goal, HPPA:
Provides educational and custom site-specific merchandise;
Funds visitor center exhibits, park libraries, and museums;
Provides information assistance, sponsors free cultural demonstrations and festivals;
Supports conservation efforts such as the endangered nēnē recovery and hawksbill sea turtle projects.
Since its creation in 1933, the association has contributed over $26 million in direct aid and other support to the parks.
