JOB DESCRIPTION:

Harmon Electric is seeking a motivated advanced Solar Service Tech, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining commercial/residential solar installations. Service Techs will be expected to have extensive Solar Installation knowledge. Qualified service technicians are required to ensure the hardware they’re responsible for is kept in good working condition and is correctly diagnosed if any problems arise. They should also be able to repair, replace or install complex machinery and devices in their specific area of competence.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Extensive solar installation knowledge (both Commercial and Residential)

• Extensive Electrical knowledge (both Commercial and Residential)

• An advanced level solar technician must be able to troubleshoot residential and commercial grade inverters.

• Possess proven mechanical aptitude and basic electrical knowledge.

• Proficient in installing and servicing EV chargers.

• Must have extensive internet connection skills.

• Knowledge and understanding of general workplace safety and the ability to follow safety standards, as well as help the company improve upon the standards in place.

• Can provide a clean MVR, to drive company truck.

• Professionalism and excellent communication skills.

• Able to work both independently and as part of a multi-tasking team.

• Solar: 3 years (Minimum)

• Electrical Experience: 2 years (Preferred)

• Construction Experience: 1 year (Preferred)

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

• Performs various troubleshooting operations on solar components.

• Performs the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies.

• Voltage testing and troubleshooting

• Documents test/repair results accurately.

• Communicates directly with the Service Department

• Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature where the ability to recognize nonconformities and develop solutions is required.

• Demonstrates superior workmanship and quality in all work areas.

• Comprehends and enforces all safety requirements; both internal & external.

• Ensures proper and complete notes and records in system.

• Maintains necessary certifications to keep up to date on knowledge and skills related to field service work.

• Professional appearance and courteous behavior are always required.

• Models a professional and positive work ethic.

• Ability to effectively work both independently and in a team environment.

• Work around Phoenix, but available to travel further at times, likely to Yuma, Prescott, Payson, and Tucson.

• Other duties as assigned.

ENVIRONMENT:

As a Solar Service Technician, you will be expected to work primarily in an outdoor environment. Occasionally we send service Techs to job sites at night, which may be noisy and fast paced and subject to inclement weather, mirroring daily responsibilities. Many tasks are repetitive in motion and include the use of electronic assembly equipment. Daily or extended travel to work sites should be expected. Extended hours may be required to complete scheduled repairs.
