Job Description
Salary: $15-$20

Technical Line Assembler Responsibilities:

  • Take direction from Production Supervisor and/or Project Manager to assist in the efficient running of the production line
  • Maintain commitment to an ISO and FDA compliant quality management system
  • Tracking assembly projects needs and directing line associates to replenish the assembly line with correct items using lot numbers as a guide
  • Recommend improvements (ie. efficiency, fixtures and tools, resource conservation) in product process as it relates to product assembly and project management
  • Implement Engineering Change Requests for issues pertaining to assembly or resource requirements
  • Ensuring all resources and assets and tools are used efficiently and correctly and stored properly
  • Enforce and help define safety policies and procedures (both in-house and regulatory) to decrease the potential for employee injuries on the job
  • Assuming responsibility for production and assembly processes
  • Inspecting components prior to assembly to ensure quality and correct components are on the assembly line
  • Maintaining open lines of communication between front line associates and leadership team
  • Implement Manufacturing Planning and help refine as needed
  • Support Inventory Control / Inventory locations
  • Follow established procedures and follow cGMP requirements as appropriate for the assembly of medical devices
  • Comprehend, follow, and suggest revisions to work instructions and shop floor documents like production trackers.
  • Build Electro-Mechanical and Medical Devices requiring dexterity to manipulate small components
  • Ensure quality of products manufactured
  • Build and package products for evaluation, design and validation testing as well as routine manufacturing
  • Complete documentation associated with production builds as required
  • General house-keeping to ensure cleanliness and order
  • Quality, safety, organization, and cleanliness are paramount in a medical device production environment. Assembler is to conduct routine quality checks on their products, review the performance of the machines and adhere to procedures and safety practices
  • Segregate material if quality is compromised and notify Engineering and Quality Assurance
  • Set up assembly line for a given project with proper tools and materials needed on hand for just that project.
  • Perform line clearance prior to starting new build lot. Perform line breakdown and storage of tools or excess materials upon completion of a build lot.
  • The ability to lift weight up to 50 lbs. is required
  • Other duties as required

Desired Skills/Qualifications:

  • Any IPC, ANSI or other manufacturing certifications preferred
  • Soldering / Micro Soldering
  • Wire Assembly
  • Ability to read technical drawings (CAD / Electrical)
  • Ability to safely operate forklift and electric pallet jack is strongly preferred
  • Basic knowledge of assembly line equipment and how to troubleshoot malfunction issues
  • Familiarity with inventory control procedures and processes
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays as needed
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment
