Hanson Dodge—an AdAge Best Places to Work winner in 2021 and 2022—is looking for an Account Director to join our award-winning and successful Digital Experience and Technology Practice. This individual will lead important work and relationships with some of our largest and long-tenured website clients, as well as cultivate and pursue new business opportunities that are website and digitally focused. This role will report directly to VP, Digital Experience and Technology. The ideal candidate must have good experience and confidence with large and complex website projects and familiarity with solutions based on a variety of CMSs. We’re looking for a strategic partner to current clients and consultant to new business prospects. Ideally a great collaborator with and champion of digital strategists, designers, SEO specialists, software developers and project managers. 


  • Lead effective and efficient cross-functional interaction within the agency to deliver client success
  • Prioritize and manage clients’ expectations
  • Partner closely with project management to maximize team output and efficiencies and deliver outcomes 
  • Partner closely with digital strategy to develop and drive multi-year road maps for client immediate and long-term digital success
  • Be actively involved in new business efforts - from cultivating and qualifying opportunities to developing RFP responses to leading pitch teams to successfully closing opportunities.
    • Proactively identifying and reaching potential customers, researching prospects using secondary sources, presenting our innovative company offerings, converting and and generating sales.
    • Setting up and optimizing sales processes targeting lead conversion effectiveness to push them down the funnel.
    • Organizing and managing a customer database, by keeping all customer and leads information up to date and providing reporting on relevant KPIs


  • A minimum of 8+ years’ experience in digitally focused work, particularly involving websites and other digital experiences.
  • Strong grasp of CMS-based solutions augmented by custom design and development.
  • Previous recent experience working in an agency environment at Senior Account Manager / Account Director Level.
  • Digital native with:
    • Passion to develop and communicate a vision for how improved digital experiences and technologies can transform our clients’ businesses. 
    • Interest in technology including trends and emerging capabilities and how these may best be used to help our clients.
  • Excellent presentation, communication and negotiation skills, with experience liaising with clients at senior level.
  • Demonstrable experience with managing enterprise level and long term relationships centered around client website work.
  • Confident leading and participating in presentations to clients including ideas, strategies, solutions, and budget/status updates.
  • Strong experience in participating in and winning new business pitches.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Management reporting experience essential.
  • Experience in working professionally with Word, Excel, Keynote, and Google productivity apps.

  • You have the interest and aptitude to work closely alongside our subject matter experts; understanding of the salient details in order to help our teams and clients work through requirements, solutioning, and executing large implementation projects.
  • You care deeply about our clients’ success and harness our deep agency talent to best serve our clients’ needs to bring about real business results.

Nice To Have

  • Working knowledge in CRM software such as Hubspot, and high-level quantitative skills. 
  • Familiarity with Digital channels and how they interact with and support our clients’ websites: PPC, SEO, Content, Social, Programmatic, etc.
  • Familiarity and experience with ecommerce solutions.
