Job Title: Service & Maintenance Manager, based in our Ashburn, VA USA office.


The Service & Maintenance Manager will play a key role in managing and directing the Service and Maintenance Team and supporting assigned products with Hanley Energy customers.  The role will require a strong personality; keeping people to the agreements that were set and agreed.


Job Responsibilities *may change according to business needs

  • Lead the Service & Maintenance Department to ensure full alignment with company strategy for growth globally
  • Ensure Service & Maintenance is delivered to the highest quality and safety standards with maximum efficiency
  • Develop best practice guidelines and standards for the department
  • Resource Management - allocate resources to meet project requirements, both in offices and on sites
  • Recruitment and development of personnel – internal training, performance appraisals, mentoring, etc. for personnel based in the office and on sites
  • Support the development of execution strategies for projects
  • Support commercial and risk reviews of projects
  • Manage the on-call roster and cover for all service staff completing reports of all emergency call outs
  • Management of quality control of all units out in customer premises
  • Setting performance indicators for your staff, developing them and their skill set, taking on apprentices
  • Manage service contracts and response times
  • Prepare documentation and service reports (e.g. repair status, safety logs, etc.) for the purpose of conveying information and/or providing supporting materials for requested actions.
  • Performance Management of staff including the development and training of your team. Provide frequent coaching to support employees in learning or improving skills (effectively matching your style to the needs of the individual)
  • Account for Service employees and ensure that they are working safely and charging out time to the appropriate jobs
  • Ensure all Service staff have the correct training records and safety equipment before entering the site
  • Searching and vetting system integrators to help support work in new regions
  • Performance Management, training, and development of new and existing system integrators/partners. Provide partners in established and new regions the support and training needed to ensure they adhere to project requirements and SLA
  • Participate in customer meetings
  • Create a positive and motivating atmosphere within the company
  • Become a brand ambassador for the competence base within Hanley Energy


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Advanced Electrical/Electronic certification/qualification
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Customer Focused
  • Broad experience in interdisciplinary coordination on large scale projects preferably across all our sectors
  • Experience in commercial management at both departmental and discipline level
  • A complete understanding of maintenance processes for electrical equipment and data center industry
  • Effective support effective decision making in overall business management
  • Comprehensive understanding of condition monitoring information such electrical inspections. Interpret these results and form corrective action plans to minimize breakdowns and maximize value
  • Excellent knowledge of Health and Safety Environmental considerations. Strong commitment to safe working practices
