Applications Engineer for Critical Environments Sales Agency sought – Danbury CT
Our client is a manufacturer's representative specializing in airflow movement and control products within critical environments. They have led the industry in serving the HVAC marketplace within the Northeast United States for over 30 years serving clients from the conceptual design phase to the commissioning and maintenance phase. As licensed engineers, the team is involved with hundreds of specialty HVAC projects for laboratory airflow control and exhaust systems serving the R&D laboratory marketplace, healthcare and pharmaceutical industry.
Their large geographic coverage includes: The five boroughs of New York City - Long Island - Lower New York State - Northern and Central New Jersey - Connecticut - Western Massachusetts
Currently, they seek an Applications Engineer that will be closely supervised and supported by other team members to facilitate training and quality assurance. The position will support the external sales team while learning about the HVAC industry and building automation systems. This is an “inside sales & applications support” position where inbound phone calls and e-mails from the external sales team, building owners, consulting engineers and contractors are responded to in a cordial and technically sound manner. In addition, the Application Engineer will initiate calls to customers to ask about technical issues with respect to orders, request for quotation, and specifications. The ability to write well is important for this position, as is the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment. This position requires a very service-oriented person, who enjoys helping clients and engineers solve their technical HVAC challenges.
This entry level position offers the opportunity to transition to an Outside Sales Engineering Role in 3 to 5 years for the right candidate and successful employee.
Education and/or Experience
- A four-year degree in engineering discipline is preferred; a 2-year technical degree and 2+ years of related experience will be considered.
- Strong computer skills required.
- Knowledge of the HVAC building automation industry is a plus.
