Summary:
The Key Account Manager supports the company goals, values, and philosophy by exhibiting the following behaviors: excellence, quality service, positive behavior, commitment, and accountability. This position supports the overall Sales and Customer Service functions of the business.
Position Responsibilities:
- Responsible for assigned customers in all tasks of support, RFQ, regularly scheduled meeting, customer satisfaction, etc.
- Obtain and maintain confidentiality agreements with customers and vendors as needed.
- Develop relationships with CM and customer.
- Develop concepts and budgetary pricing.
- Developing project specific presentations.
- Develop new offerings to meet customer needs with CUS Manager.
- Lead the proposal process to solve the customer’s needs.
- Work with applications to find solutions to the customer’s requirements.
- Keep Salesforce up to date – Trip Reports, RFQs received, meeting/call reports, proposal process, won/lost.
- Create reports as necessary.
- Provide information of customer needs, issues, and improvements.
- Fully utilize the communication tools provided.
- Work with CUS Project Team throughout project.
- Be involved in dispute resolution between the employer and customer teams.
- Ensure customer satisfaction post installation and maintain customer relationship.
- Work with the Customer Service Manager and Application Engineers on all aspects of the process.
- Read and understand customer supplied documents including drawings and User Requirement Specifications.
- Work with other Key Account Managers, as necessary.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors in engineering
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Engineering, Automation or Applications Engineering in the machine building industry.
- A technical background and experience with automation and/or robotics and B2B sales.
- Flexibility and ability to remain highly organized and confidential while addressing diverse responsibilities.
- Ability to make sound decisions independently and within a team setting.
- Ability to be a team player.
- Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of MS Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Project with demonstrated record of spreadsheet creation and maintenance.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong ability to function in a fast-paced work environment.
- Excellent analytical skills and solid aptitude with numbers.
- Ability to communicate technical details.
- Ability to follow company and department policies and procedures.

- Ability to travel 50% of the time.
- Ability to create and present a project specific presentation.
- Technical writing skills
- Computer skills including basic Microsoft Office Tools (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Project) and advanced Excel spreadsheet experience.
- Experienced in the use of a database system for tracking customers and opportunities.
- Ability to follow company procedures.
- Validation knowledge is a plus.
- Ability to motivate

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Position is in an office environment and machine shop setting that involves associated risks or discomforts requiring safety precautions. The duties of this position will require that the employee stand, sit, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, extend/reach with body parts, speak, hear, listen, see and will be exposed to temperatures and occasionally loud noise levels associated with plant and office environments within all plant locations to include customer sites. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision and Ability to adjust focus. Position is subject to long hours and travel. Position interfaces with other departments within the Company as well as external vendors and customers.
