Position Summary

The Executive Vice President of Construction will be responsible for the planning, strategizing and management of all of the companys construction-related operations, These operations include procurement, construction, purchasing and customer service. Operating in a fast paced environment, the Vice President will develop goals, budgets, plans, and strategies to ensure efficient, effective and profitable operations. As part of the leadership team, working with the Chief Financial Officer, Engineers, Project Managers and Superintendents, you will collaborate in developing and implementing a vision for the organization, while ensuring that both current and future direction is effectively communicated and embraced across the company.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities

Develop and implement long term business plans for new developments, expansions, renovations, etc. that are consistent with the Company's Strategic Plan and financial objectives.

Generate offers for development/construction opportunities, negotiating and executing RFPs and Letters of Intent with prospective clients.

Identify and source opportunities to grow the companys business unit.

Providing strategic vision and leadership to operations ensuring policies and metrics are met

Coordinating business development activities and internal marketing meetings in the pursuit of new opportunities

Overseeing preliminary feasibility budget process, establishing and maintaining final budgets based on approved plans and take-offs

Instill practices for driving revenues

Analyzing financial reports

Ensuring optimal execution

Increasing operational performance

Achieving financial objectives and profitability goals

Review and approval of monthly progress status reports, cost to complete, and subcontractor pay applications

Ensuring schedule and budget compliance for all projects

Structuring policies and procedures

Defining and implementing robust project management processes and procedures with organizational effectiveness through a hands-on, proactive approach

Mentoring and motivating personnel for professional development

Establishing team performance, and assignment of duties on complex projects

Working effectively and efficiently toward long-term goals and objectives in a diverse atmosphere under changing demands.

Minimum Qualifications

Seasoned construction executive with a minimum of 10 years of relevant construction industry experience.Track record of success initiating and leading complex development projects to success is required.

Bachelors degree preferred

Successfully managed projects from conception through to completion.

Experience in negotiating/managing sub-contractors as well as owner/developers.

Team leader and player who is experienced in organizing and leading a diverse number of disciplines.

Solid negotiating skills, ideally with a history of dealing with government authorities, consultants, general contractors and material suppliers.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, a collaborative and team-oriented work style and conflict resolution skills.

Has a demonstrated ability to manage and mentor a team of professionals.

Proven ability to manage a number of projects and tasks at the same time, coordinate numerous activities and groups of people in order to achieve maximum efficiency.

Is a driven and results oriented individual with a reputation of achieving positive results under challenging circumstances

Ability to provide Feasibility studies, Reviews of Specifications, Plans, and Estimates

Understanding of Quality Control & Quality Assurance

Ability to implement Field Safety Management Systems & Programs

Extensive experience resolving design, schedule, and cost changes

Understanding of critical Path Scheduling

Ability to apply value engineering

Experience with and participation in Negotiating & Bidding

Understanding of and experience with client interaction and business development support
