Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant is responsible to oversee the smooth and efficient processing of accounting related information and systems of multiple properties in accordance with company standards.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform daily accounting duties for multiple properties
• Prepare and issue cash over/short report to GM and Accounting Manager
• Ensure night audit functions are complete and accurate on a daily basis including Archive reporting
• Input data from prior day(s) into Excel format journal to distribute DRR (Daily Revenue Report)
• Verify daily revenue is reported/uploaded accurately and timely into accounting system & saved
• Update cash activity to balance credit cards, disbursements, and wire transfers
• Send wire notifications to Accounting Manager
• Audit Ledgers, House and Group Master Accounts on a regular basis
• Communicate necessary reports and information to Accounting Managers/GM
• Month end journal preparation to assist with closing
• Assist Accountants with month end closing procedures
• Any other duties as assigned by management or supervisors

Preferred Level of Education:

Bachelors Degree or Equivalent Experience

Computer Knowledge or Technical Requirements:

• College degree preferred
• One year hotel accounting experience (OnQ PMS, Opera PMS, and/or Micros POS preferred)
• Two years front desk/night audit preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
• Must be able to communicate in English with guests, visitors, vendors and staff
• Must be able to provide legible communication
• Must be able to compute mathematical calculations
• Experience with computers, calculators, or word processors
• Possess an independent work ethic to perform job functions without supervision
• Ability to focus on details and resolve numerical problems in a timely manner
• Ability to prioritize, organize, follow through and multitask


Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
