Direct Hire HR Generalist opportunity with nationwide manufacturer. Will plan, direct, coordinate and evaluate overall human resource management activities to optimize the strategic use of human resources and maintain functions for union environment.
Ensures company is following federal and state labor laws
Responsible for recruitment, testing, interviewing, background checks, employment reference checks, and entire hiring process of employees as needed
Conducts maintenance of HR system including employee changes
Coordinates all benefit enrollments, including record keeping and terminations
Completes monthly reports
Tracks Short Term Disability
Processes unemployment claims and conducts unemployment hearings when necessary
Acts as employee contact/resource and assists employment related questions
Responsible for maintenance of Worker’s Compensation records and investigations
Oversees FMLA records and tracking
Assists Managers and Supervisors with coaching and counseling of employees
Oversees new hire orientation completion
Ensures I-9 compliance and conducts I-9 audits
Coordinates performance/wage review process
Coordinates employee relations activities
Responsible for insuring plant is in OSHA compliance and maintenance of all records
Responsible for training of all employees yearly for sexual harassment and workplace violence
Conducts open enrollment yearly and assists all employees with requested changes are completed
Involved in the strategic management of the division
Travels to all locations also includes company business for training opportunities and Human Resource meetings
All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
Ability to read, analyze financial reports and legal documents
Knowledge of Word and Excel
PHR/SPHR certification desired
OSHA compliance course desired
