Job Description

Videographer/Photographer

This position requires a professional who is passionate about communications, knowledgeable of and skilled in the public affairs domain with experience in content development, video production/editing, podcasts, and outreach targeted to internal and external Department of Defense audiences in the National Capital Region. Candidates with a background in broadcast and article writing are strongly encouraged to apply.

Experience:

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite preferred
  • Excellent communication, writing, video concepts and editing
  • Compose written content for client deliverables
  • Integrate messaging into broadcast content for publication across podcasts, website and social media
  • Communications experience in supporting Department of Defense, Department of Army and or other government organizations

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Produce high quality and dynamic videos to feature on social media and website platforms
  • Leverage messaging to concept out videos and articles for mass distribution to external and internal stakeholders
  • Serve as a communications liaison on assigned strategic communications contract producing and managing deliverables of the highest quality
  • Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the client, service team, and peer communications strategist
  • Maintain awareness of current video and public affairs tactics for implementation into program
  • Think outside the box to pitch and expand video concepts for client
  • Participate in the preparation of weekly/monthly/quarterly reports, as required
  • Adept at assuming responsibility and ownership of their work

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in creating podcasts
  • Versed in Photoshop and/or Lightroom
  • Working knowledge of DSLR and fixed lens cameras
  • Ability to edit video quickly utilizing Adobe Premiere
  • Experience (article, newsletters, etc.)
  • Experience working with senior leaders to include shooting official photos
  • Proficient in photography
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Graphic experience is a plus, but not required
  • Proficient in lighting subjects
  • Relevant communications planning and or strategy experience working military leaders from LTC level and above
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience
  • Active SECRET Clearance Preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
