Job Description Our client designs, manufactures, and sells a line of specialty gear boxes, and they are the leading manufacturer of this type of product in the world! Their global headquarters is located in the Phoenix, AZ Deer Valley Airpark area. They are looking to fill an opening for a Senior Manufacturing Cost Analyst/Accountant. This is a growth position which will report directly to the CFO. The primary role of the position is to implement a best in class cost analysis tool set for tracking and driving margin improvement. This system will start with detail manufacturing data across multiple entities feeding up to high-level financial reporting required by senior management and the Board of Directors. Additionally, this position will assist with various process and cost improvements including integration of our ERP systems across multiple entities. Essential Functions: Develop robust cost and margin tracking system by item, by customer, by region, etc. Analyze both direct and indirect costs for inclusion in the cost analysis Integrate the cost and margin tracking system into the overall accounting and financial systems Assist in budget/forecast development Track multi-entity costs against budget/forecast targets and effectively communicate variances to management with recommendations for improvement actions Prepare various monthly inventory, FX, cost segment and absorption analysis/reports Assist with estimating and verifying product costs to support quoting activities Support and/or lead various ERP system integration and continuous improvement projects Assist in developing and documenting policies and procedures including system requirements and internal controls Assist with period end close activities including by not limited to journal entries, account reconciliations and supplemental financial reporting schedules Work across entire organization at all levels to improve profitability and to achieve accounting and financial analysis excellence Support annual audit requests Support and lead cost accounting integration of newly acquired companies as needed Competencies: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field 3+ years of accounting and analysis experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting concepts Advanced excel and data modeling skills A curious and analytical mindset with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail Understanding of ERP and data management systems (SAP B1 preferred) Excellent communication skills with an ability to express opinions and communicate complex concepts with all levels of the organization Must demonstrate the highest standards of personal and professional integrity
