Description

The Senior Financial Analyst position is a critical integral part of the Finance and Accounting team. The position is responsible for preparing analyses to understand the business drivers of financial results and taking an active role in forecasting. In addition, the Senior Financial Analyst will provide assistance in executing and implementing process improvement initiatives provide recommendations based on complex analysis and cost-benefit studies. Responsible for generating ad hoc reports as requested. This position reports to the Vice President, Finance & Accounting.

Primary Objectives:

  • Prepare Monthly, Quarterly, Annual Financial reporting.
  • Evaluate business drivers and build quantitative models to support business decisions.
  • Initiate cross-functional projects to identify new opportunities for improvement in forecast accuracy and process efficiency.
  • Provide key ad-hoc analytical and research support for various strategic initiatives.

Detailed Job Duties: (typical monthly, weekly, daily tasks which support the primary objectives)

  • Work closely with Vice President, Finance & Accounting on consolidated monthly financial reports, quarterly forecasts, and annual budgets.
  • Support development and execution of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, focusing on underlying business drivers, key financial and operating metrics, and sensitivity analysis.
  • Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, expenses, and capital expenditures.
  • Prepare and present monthly financial reports including variance analysis to executive-level business partners.
  • Take large quantities of financial data and analytic results and condense them into a coherent story with clear, easy-to-understand conclusions and implications.
  • Understand financial operations of the business and educate others inside and outside the Finance/Accounting group about the financial performance of their respective area.
  • Focus on key performance indicators and/or ongoing process improvement opportunities.
  • Assist with preparing support for annual financial audit for the inventory, COGS, and logistics areas.
  • Review and enter monthly journal entries for product costing and logistics accruals.
Requirements

The MUST Haves: (ex: skills, education, experience, certifications, licenses)

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Five or more (5+) years of relevant experience in FP&A or related field.
  • Collaborative team player, strong relationship-building, and active partnership with cross-functional teams
  • Hands-on / Roll up your sleeves approach, working with the team to produce high quality work products; we are detail-oriented organization and will drill to invoice-level data when needed.
  • Outstanding verbal/written communication, presentation, organizational and teamwork skills are required.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently with a high sense of urgency and entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Ability to interact regularly with department leadership and senior executives, and must be able to do so in a confident and professional manner.
  • Strong and meticulous analytics and strategic thinking skills.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills required.

  • Physical Ability:

o Sit up to 5 hours per day

o Stand up to 5 hours per day

o Lift, carry, push up to 25 lbs.

  • Ability to work M-F during the core hours of 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Ability to listen, read, organize thoughts, analyze, and communicate (both in verbal and written form, in English, in a concise and professional manner).
  • Ability to type on a keyboard and utilize the computer work tools constantly and with proficiency (specifically the MS Office Suite)
  • Timely communication and responsiveness to peers and management
  • Regular and consistent attendance to work and meetings
  • Ability to receive and offer feedback in a professional and positive manner
