Job Purpose:

HME, Inc. is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer with experience in structural design of buildings and their components as well as in the professional development of civil site plans and drainage reports to join the HME, Inc Engineering Department and assist in the duties and responsibilities listed below.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work alongside other engineers and use engineering knowledge and experience to perform structural design of buildings and their components (foundations, steel and concrete structures, steel connections, erection plans, etc.) using a variety of building materials (i.e. steel, concrete, masonry, and wood)
  • Work alongside other engineers in coordination with multiple departments to perform Steel connection, stair, ladder, rail, and other delegated design items on HME, Inc. projects in conformance to the project contract documents and applicable codes.
  • Work alongside other engineers in coordination with multiple departments to perform quality control checks of Erection Drawings and Shop drawings
  • Use engineering knowledge and experience to develop site plans and drainage reports as necessary for the development of HME, Inc. properties and interests

Job Knowledge & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required
  • 3-5 years of experience in designing site plans and writing drainage reports
  • 1-3 years of experience in designing structures and components utilizing different material types (i.e. steel, concrete, masonry, wood, etc.)
  • Professional Engineering Licensure Preferred
    Surveying experience preferred
     

Required Skills & Behaviors

  • Proficient in the use of Auto Cad Civil 3D
  • Experience with the following software is preferred: Top Con surveying software, Tekla, RISA 3D, and the Microsoft Office Apps
  • Willingness to Learn New Software Applications
  • Excellent Written and Verbal Communication skills
  • Strong and Focused Work Ethic
  • Strong Organization skills
  • Ability to Work in a Time-Sensitive Environment
  • Strong Cross-Departmental Collaboration and Communication Skills
