Responsible for conducting mental health assessments, triage, short-term counseling, referral and follow-up for Health System employees through the Employee Assistance Program. Incorporates knowledge and expertise in identifying employee's needs and then participates with other departments to implement classes and programs which promote employee's health and well being.
+ Provides mental health assessments, triage, short-term counseling, referral and follow-up for employees through Employee Assistance Program.
+ Provides therapeutic environment for employees/EAP clients and ensures confidentiality.
+ Completes clinical documentation for all activities.
+ Provides information on internal and external programs and resources to employees, including telephone inquiries.
+ Responds in professional manner to consultation requests from other departments and supervisors regarding difficult employee situations.
+ Assists tracking of employees (and insured) receiving substance abuse treatment.
+ Prepare and present educational classes on EAP related subjects for employees.
+ Offer above stated services at other facilities with the Huntsville Health System.
MA or MS in mental health related field from an accredited college or university required. Alabama license or certification eligible in field of specialty.
Minimum of two years experience in mental health related field involving group and individual therapy preferred.
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly. Excellent communication skills necessary with the ability to handle difficult interpersonal situations. Must be able to develop classes and present in classroom or group setting.
