Role Title: Dean of Faculty

Exempt/Non-Exempt: Exempt

Reports to: CEO

Teamwork: Members of the Leadership Team

Main Purpose of the Role

The Dean of Faculty oversees the Academic Strategic Plan including organizational, operational, and academic curricula of the school. Lead a dynamic team of Principals and teachers in a professional, continuous improvement environment and engage in corporate strategies.

Key Responsibilities: (The primary tasks, functions and deliverables of the role)

Strategic Planning

● Ensure accreditation is current, all processes are in place for renewal

● Engage the school community to ensure action steps are taken to develop and implement the academic strategic plan

● Mission, Vision, Guiding Principles and Diversity Statement documents are visible, applied and ingrained into culture

● Frequent communication within the community on reporting and key decision making

Academic Programming

● Lead and oversee the development of academic programs, ensuring that the curricular scope and

sequence, as well as instructional strategies, reflect the school's philosophy, objectives, and high standards of Henderson International School

● Represent the school among the teacher, student and parent communities in a respectful and professional manner.

Operational Leadership

● Establish and oversee the implementation of and compliance with operational procedures, rules and standards relating to faculty and staff, recruitment and retention of teachers

● Establish processes and procedures for maintaining maximum awareness of competition, product

knowledge and market intelligence

● Plan and implement the strategic development of a growing school

● Manage Principals’ performance and professional development for academic team

● Ensure all programs are well developed and led by Principals

Financial Management

● Facilitate re-enrollment of students through robust collaborative process and support academic readiness of admissions process

● Provide guidance in the development and implementation of the school budget

Community Engagement

● Represent the school to the local business and social communities - the Dean of Faculty is expected to attend many functions and to participate in various activities to promote the school within the community

● Provide educational leadership to place the school in the forefront of education in the market

● Develop and implement professional growth plans for all academic staff

● Serve as the spokesperson for the school to all media on all topics of education concern

Dean of Faculty


Qualification - Master’s Degree

Experience - Minimum of 3 years in a senior leadership role in a competitive school


Prior Knowledge - PK-8 teaching experience prior to

education administration


Qualification -Masters or Doctorate in Education

Experience -Minimum: 5 years of experience in an academic administrative role, preferably as a senior leader

Prior Knowledge -Specialized academic program of the school, with private school
