HELIX Environmental Construction Group, an environmental construction and habitat restoration company, is seeking a highly motivated entry level Restoration Supervisor to join our team at our San Diego, CA office.
This position will be instrumental in helping to grow our habitat restoration group in the Southern California region. As a Restoration Supervisor you will assist the project manager and field staff in planning, directing, and coordinating activities of designated projects to ensure that goals or objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and budgets. This position will be responsible for working on project sites, and occasionally completing duties in the office.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Oversee all construction activities for designated projects throughout Southern California
Cost estimations, including plan takeoffs and labor estimation
Maintain constant communication with field and office staff
Scheduling of construction work
Maintenance of Qualified Applicator’s License
Quality control – verification of site work with project planning expectations
Promoting a safe work environment
Traveling as needed
Safe use of hand tools and small equipment
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field or equivalent experience (minor in Biology or Environmental Science preferred, but not required)
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and in varying terrain
Able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
Able to stand for extended periods of time
General report writing skills
Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office
Excellent written and verbal skills
Detail oriented, with excellent organizational skills
Valid California driver license with a clean driving record over the last 3 years
Additional Skills considered a plus:
Native plant identification
Intern or volunteer experience (outside of academic requirements)
Work experience in a natural resources, environmental science, or related field
Landscape, agricultural, or forestry experience
Experience operating equipment such as skip loader, skid steer, excavator, etc.
