The Arrhythmia Syncope Center RN is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the process of assessment, diagnosis and evaluation. The RN is responsible for all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standard. The RN collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care. It is essential for the RN to be able to work and follow detailed instruction from the physicians and other personnel. In addition the RN will prepare patient for test using a variety of specialized electronic test equipment, recording devices and laboratory instruments. The Arrhythmia Syncope Center Medical Director will be providing the necessary training in techniques and procedures used in the EP Lab. The RN will need to also be trained to step into the CVL tech arena and be cross trained to assist during procedures. Competency in related areas such as Critical Care, BCLS/ACLS, 12 Lead ekg, EPS-related procedures (i.e., tilt, cardioversion, pacing, mapping/ablation studies, CRM implantation).
