The Patient Access Director is responsible for daily operations of the Patient Access (PTAC) Central unit including scheduling, preregistration, insurance verification, pre-certification and/or insurance notification functions. The Director also coordinates operations with hospital leadership representative from each facility associated with the Shared Services Center (SSC), demonstrating strong commitment to customer relationships by taking ownership of issues and facilitating effective outcomes in a timely manner.
What you will do in this role:
Oversee SSC operations of PTAC Central Unit including ensuring daily operations are maintained according to standards.
Serve as a primary liaison for the PTAC Central Unit between SSC and facility directors.
Maintain regular communication with facility directors and leadership team.
Maintain and promote good customer relations with facility management, physicians and physician office staff.
Review PTAC Central Unit performance to ensure timeliness, accuracy, compliance and standards fulfillment as defined in SSC Service Level Agreement.
Assume a lead role for innovation, knowledge sharing and identify best practices within the SSC and among peer group
Proactively establish and facilitate regular operational review meetings with appropriate stakeholders/customers.
Proactively implement process improvements to ensure efficiency and accuracy in operations
Bachelor's degree in Business or related field required. If a desired applicant does not have a Bachelor's degree, the requirement can be waived IF they are currently in a Bachelor's degree program.
Minimum 5 years' healthcare management experience with three of these years in the related area for the position.
Call center experience preferred.
Scheduling experience preferred.
Patient Access experience preferred.
