About this Facility:
Serving our community for more than 30 years, HCA TriStar Southern Hills has been a leader for a wide range of healthcare services, including emergency services, cardiology, orthopedics and rehabilitation. TriStar Southern Hills is an Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI and a Primary Stroke Center. There are more than 300 board certified physicians representing more than 20 specialties, many of whom have offices located on our campus.
About this opportunity:
The Disaster Preparedness Coordinator reports to the Emergency Department director and provides oversight and multidisciplinary support of our Emergency & Disaster Preparedness Program.
Duties Include:
Monitor and measure EM program performance
Utilize long range planning to identify risks and facilitate mitigation of such while adhering to the Mission and values of the facility.
Identify areas for improvement and assist in defining solutions for the EM program
Interacts and coordinates with local, divisional, regional and state agencies to maintain the highest state of readiness
Assists in prioritizing the activities of the Emergency Management Committee.
Assures Facility meets JC and CMS EM guidelines.
Facilitates disaster readiness activities and incident response for the medical facility.
Provides Subject-Matter Expertise as appropriate and acts as an educator on EM activities for the facility.
Actively promotes a supportive and inclusive environment to encourage teamwork.
Integrates activities with members of Local Emergency Planning Committee, county and state Emergency Management, division and enterprise Emergency Management, first responders, HealthCare Consortiums and other community care/response providers.
Utilizes Therapeutic communication in daily practice.
Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment.
Participates in performance improvement activities to assure continual readiness.
Coordinates participation that fosters the facility's mission statement
Qualifications:

  • *
Four-year college degree (preferred)
Four years or more of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licensed EMT-P or Registered Nurse (preferred)
High school diploma or GED
Preference given to those individuals having completed courses of study relating to Emergency Management, incident Command, Business or Safety Management and/or certification in the field.
Four years in a leadership or supervisory role in a medical, law, fire or equivalent setting.
Four-year experience in Emergency Management.
Three years previous hospital or pre-hospital experience preferred.
Previous experience with Emergency Preparedness/Incident Command
