Position Summary: This position supports the mission of The Medical Center of Aurora/Centennial Medical Plaza of optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person.
* Responsible evaluation of behavioral health clients in both an acute and outpatient setting to determine appropriate level of inclusion in art therapy.
* Determines strategies for therapeutic interventions through the use of art in both an individual and group setting.
* Participates in the interdisciplinary process of individualized treatment planning.
* When need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: BLS-Healthcare provider, CPI certification within 6 months of hire and re-certification every 2 years thereafter.
Education: Master's degree with certification/license as an Art Therapist. Experience in Behavioral Health related field preferred.
Experience: One to three years of clinical/direct behavioral healthcare experience
Special Qualifications: Must have excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills and able to work with a highly diverse population. Must be knowledgeable of ADAD and Joint Commission standards. Must be knowledgeable of behavioral health evaluation and consultation processes. Must have ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and work in high stress environment. Must be able to apply critical thinking and formulate diagnostic impressions based upon review of systems, history, symptoms and current presentation. Must be able to provide crisis intervention and utilize system resources/referrals.
Degree of supervision required: Involves general guidance and direction by the Director Clinical Services. Employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
