This position would be require the candidate to reduce selected variable costs by minimum of 10% per year, Improve On Time Delivery to reach 95%, Reduce scrap rate to 2% or less, Reduce nonconformance activity to less than 5, Improve efficiencies by 10% per year thru: and Set-Up Reduction and Rework Reduction Location: Based out of Cheshire, CT, Reports to: Senior Lean Leader Salary Grade: Essential Duties & Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform. Organizes and conducts 5S, Kaizen events, lean events, value stream mapping events, etc. as appropriate to assist in reducing waste and costs Effectively communicates with all employees through visual factory concepts training sessions, and written and oral communications Works with production, engineering, quality, purchasing and finance departments to reduce costs Layout manufacturing cells, work areas, or entire facilities to enhance flow Establishes goals and priorities in conjunction with functional leaders. Documents projects and presents summary to management and employees on a regular basis Leads and coordinates efforts on key projects selected with management. Conducts training of employees at all levels of the organization on lean manufacturing principle Interfaces with customers through continuous improvement activities (6 Sigma program, lean manufacturing/lean enterprise etc.) Interfaces with corporate headquarters for company-wide continuous improvement initiatives. Various other duties as assigned by Supervisor. Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English at a functional level. Participate in training as required 5-10% Domestic Travel required Physical Demands: Must be able to lift, push, or pull at least 50 lbs. Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend, and move about our facility Requirements: Bachelors of Science, preferably with a mechanical or manufacturing or lean engineering background 5 to 10 years of experience in manufacturing, continuous improvement, lean manufacturing Hands on experience with process improvement in a long cycle low to medium volume production environment.
