Job Description

Overall Job Function:  To act as a business partner to the Regional Controller and DC Operations to achieve business results, optimize performance and ensure compliance.

 

Job Responsibility including but not limited to:

·        Define and communicate strategy to achieve goals together with the DC management team (costs, planning, efficiency, and payroll)

·        Accountable for all financial and operational data related to DC controlling, incl. set up and follow up on agreed budget, projects, KPIs (e.g., cost, service, sustainability) in terms of efficiency and productivity as well as quality assurance

·        Act as the back-up to the DC Manager, i.e., strongly support the DC Manager and represent him in cases of absence

·        Support departments and management team with financial and quantitative insights as well as reports and analyses

·        Secure correct invoicing and quality check of main cost drivers

·        Identify and drive areas of improvement with regards to DC performance by performing relevant analyses and reports as well as define potential action plan, e.g., for improving profitability, service level, efficiency, DC costs etc.

·        Define framework & reports structure to follow up on business results on regular basis, in alignment with overall global guidelines and reporting needs of DC management, audit routines etc.

·        Support and drive contract negotiation (e.g., oversee and initiate tendering of contracts with external vendors)

·        Provide quantitative decision support to DC management team

·        Oversee, challenge, and validate planning

·        Takes over DC Planner responsibilities at Retail DCs of similar size L & smaller

 

Minimum Candidate Qualifications:

·        Requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or management related field. 

·        6+ years' experience in logistics, accounting and finance as a controller or assistant controller

·        Preferably experience working in a distribution center environment

 

Role Requirements:

·        Advanced PC skills with Excel and Access

·        2-3 years of budgeting experience, including P&L, forecasting, etc.

·        Must have up-to-date knowledge and understanding of accounting and finance practices

·        Ability to look at business need and cost consciousness

·        Excellent people and communication skills

·        Ability to work independently and in a high pressure, multi-personality, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment

·        Demonstrates flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload.

·        Ability to protect confidential information

·        Excellent organizational skills

 

Competencies:

·        Strong in communicating and adapting method based on circumstance

·        Deep knowledge of controlling, logistics, DC operations & finance, related software, and regional specifics, as well as operational capabilities

·        Good understanding of cross-functional departments and collaboration within Regions

·        Solid skills in project mgmt., prioritization, and business case

·        Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset

·        Holistic view to look at the bigger perspective with a visionary approach
