The qualified individual in this very visible position must present a positive image by being pleasant, friendly and cordial in their approach towards the guests of the Hotels when seeing and greeting them during the course of the day, whether it is while performing the essential duties and responsibilities as noted below, when either in a guest's room, or seeing them anywhere on the grounds of the Hotels. The Housekeeping staff should always have a neat and professionally presented appearance, as this depicts the high standards that distinguishes the Hotels from all others in the hospitality industry.
REQUIRED PRIMARY POSITION FUNCTIONS
Perform routine daily duties in the cleaning and servicing of the guest rooms and baths as assigned
Discreetly enters guest rooms when the “service room” sign is posted on the guest's door
Respond to any guest requests or questions if able to, or assure the guest you will find staff who can
Basic functions are to thoroughly clean the entire room, closets, baths, make beds, replace soiled linens and towels, replenish bath supplies and other applicable complimentary amenities, clean mirrors and windows, vacuum carpet, clean tile floor, refresh unoccupied rooms on a daily/rotation basis to insure the “freshness” of the rooms and surroundings, including hallways and walkways traveled by guests.
Timely maintenance of of providing “turn-down services” as applicable.
Check daily check-out and check-in report to prioritize the workflow in response to guest arrivals etc.
Ensure the privacy of the guests and the security of their rooms
Notify Housekeeping Supervisor of any issues encountered, i.e. possible breakage/damage of Hotel property in the guest room, inventory supply etc., as well as possible unregistered occupants and/or premature guest departure prior to scheduled date
Maintenance and cleanliness of all Housekeeping work areas, Hotel grounds as appropriate, or report it
MINIMUM PREREQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, & RELATED EXPERIENCE
Minimally a High School graduate or equivalence
Must be capable to speak, read, write and understand the basics of the English language
Previous hospitality and/or customer service industry experience highly preferred
Ability to follow-written and verbal instructions, detail oriented, can multi-task and set priorities
Ability to work independently without continual supervision or instruction, “team orientated” focus
Required flexibility for assigned scheduling shifts-early morning-late afternoons,weekends, holidays
Ensure reliable personal commutation and transportation to report “on-time” for assigned daily shifts
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND OTHER REGULAR POSITION RELATED NECESSITIES
Capability to stand for extended periods of time to conduct all Housekeeping functions as assigned
Physical mobility/stamina to lift, carry, move approx. fifty (50) pounds, on ground level and up stairs
Perform all position tasks with exposure to varying degrees of heat/humidity and inclement weather
