Human Resources, Leave of Absence Operation Manager

Job Title: Manager, Human Resources Operations

The Human Resources Manager is accountable for providing Human Resources support for all associates and management through execution of Human Resources strategy, effective organizational design and administration of related processes, and the consultation, facilitation and resolution of employee relations matters.

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:

  • Supervise a team of direct reports
  • Manage and administer the Leaves of Absence and Workers' Compensation programs for the enterprise
  • Manage and administer the enterprise relocation program
  • Create reporting and analysis for employment lifecycle including background checks and unemployment claims processes
  • Oversee the Employee Records Center, including the eI9 verification process
  • Oversee the criminal background check process for the enterprise
  • Represent Guitar Center in regards to unemployment hearings
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers and employees
  • Promote and foster an environment of open communication and honest, candid feedback
  • Shape a culture that facilitates and supports Guitar Center's goals and initiatives, by supporting and coaching managers in their implementation of core people processes
  • Pro-actively challenge the established organizational structure to drive superior
  • Responsible for gathering EEO claim and subpoena information
  • Help maintain compliance for any changes to employment law
  • Provide guidance to management on all policy and procedure interpretation, regarding LOA,WC and I9 compliance
  • Perform additional related duties as required and/or assigned

To join our band, you'll need the following experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably in Human Resources Management or a related
  • 6 years of relevant work experience (in addition to degree or years of previous experience) within areas such as:
    • Employee relations/coaching
    • Organizational system change management
    • Compliance
  • 2 years of experience leading teams
  • Skilled HR knowledge in EEO, FLSA, AA, FMLA, CFRA, ADA, unemployment, and worker's compensation
