+ Perform simple background research (including basic database research across Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) response mission areas), assemble data, and organize data into various presentation formats.
+ Organize research outcomes and develop documents and project reports, including appropriate graphics, with editorial supervision.
+ Support the activities of more senior staff by gathering and compiling data and supporting project analyses.
+ Responsibilities may also include, with coaching from more senior staff, direct client contact at the GS 13-14 level and support of external stakeholder outreach and coordination, meeting scheduling, and other meeting support, including the recording of meeting notes and due-out reports.
+ Apply data visualization methods for written products and presentation materials.
The Research Assistant will work out of our Takoma Park MD office, with frequent trips into DC for meetings and client visits.
+ Minimum of three years undergraduate training with strong academic record (Intern) or bachelor's degree.
+ Under supervision, capable of working on assignments that are simple to moderately complex.
+ Excellent research, data organizing, writing, and communications skills required.
+ Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs required.
Will include an assessment of technical analytical skills, capacity to effectively and efficiently organize taskings and work streams, verbal and written communications skills, relationship-building and stakeholder interaction, and ability to function as a "self-starter" in a complex work environment.
