GrubStreet is the nation's leading literary arts center. We are seeking a Programs Intern for the July-December 2023 term. GrubStreet interns will gain hands-on experience in non-profit arts administration, as well as an insider's look at the Boston creative writing scene. This program includes training, mentorship, professional development, and opportunities to collaborate on projects. Interns will have opportunities to interview GrubStreet staff, network, and gain career guidance in their areas of interest. Schedule
15-20 hours per week. Hybrid flexible schedule with at least two days required in-person (Wednesday and Saturday AM shifts). Chromebooks will be provided for the duration of the internship.
Programs Department
The Programs intern works closely with the Programming team to support providing an excellent learning experience to GrubStreet students in our adult classes. The Programs intern supports class operations at our Center for Creative Writing, and communicates with students in-person, via email, and over the phone. They are also responsible for updating enrollments across all classes, emailing class surveys to students and instructors, and communicating with instructors about class logistics, including providing Zoom support when needed. This position requires Saturday morning availability and in-person event coverage as needed.

Learning Objectives
Interns will gain knowledge of the functions of non-profit arts administration in conjunction with the Core Programs team - including programming, event planning, student registrations, interfacing with instructors, managing scholarships, and more. They will come away with entry-level professional experience and transferable office skills, while contributing to GrubStreet's mission of increasing access to high-level writing education.
