Promotes customer service and a healthy work environment. Provides accurate information to customers in a caring, friendly, and efficient manner. Assists in the production of filled prescriptions by properly handling prescription orders, inputting data into a pharmacy data processor, preparing medication, organizing, packaging, and selling filled prescriptions and OTC items. Maintains a steady, working line of communication, both in written and verbal forms, to our customer base and fellow associates. Reports to the pharmacist in charge, and if the pharmacist in charge is not present, reports to the pharmacist on duty. Assists pharmacists to ensure accuracy in filling prescriptions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists pharmacists by processing prescriptions
Prioritizes prescriptions to be filled
Enters new order and refill prescriptions into computer
Contacts insurance companies and other third party payers
Counts and pours medications, affixes labels to packages.
Organizes and packages filled prescriptions
Maintains register operations to minimize overages and shortages.
Maintains OTC product line to maximize customer appeal and promote sales.
Maintains merchandise inventory, both Rx and OTC, by utilizing proper inventory management tools.
Orders supplies and equipment as needed.
Files prescriptions and completes daily paperwork, reports, and invoices.
Maintains friendly and customer-service oriented attitude.
Maintains sanitary and safe working and shopping environment by keeping pharmacy and OTC areas clean and organized
Cleans floors, counters, and shelves on a regular basis
Promotes, markets, and assists with the advertising of Greenbriar Pharmacy
Delivers medication in emergencies and runs errands when needed.
Reports any unsafe, malicious, improper, or illegal activity within or on the premises of Greenbriar Pharmacy
Uses proper handling techniques with respect to equipment and devices
Maintains product on shelves by checking for expiration dates and keeping product sorted in an organized manner.
Follows written or verbal instructions. Sorting documents into specific order. Entering details into records.
Pushing, pulling, lifting and/or maneuvering heavy objects weighing 40+ pounds in a safe and effective manner.
Answers inquiries about and/or presenting products or services to customers.
Works well with fellow associates, including management, and promotes team environment.
Learns new systems, methods or processes.
Works the assigned schedule and complies with the company’s timekeeping policy
Job responsibilities require standing and walking over 90% of time; and bending, stooping, kneeling over 30%.
Education, Experience, Training:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Must be registered as a technician with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy, maintaining good standing, and meeting all requirements for continuing education, if applicable.
