The Green Valley Pecan Company is one of the world’s largest growers and processors of pecans as well as the biggest exporter of pecans to Europe. We control the entire process from planting, to harvest, shelling to processing and are currently in three states with more than 250 employees. We are seeking a full time Human Resources Director for our Corporate Office in Sahuarita, AZ. The Human Resources Director is responsible for recruiting and retention, performance management, compensation and benefits, wellness programs, employment policies and procedures, training and development, and compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations. Essential Functions: Annually reviews and makes recommendations to executive management for improvement of the organization's employment policies, procedures and practices. Develops new policies and procedures as needed. Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation, oversees implementation of changes and ensures compliance. Assists executive management in the annual review, preparation and administration of the organization's compensation program. Monitors and tracks employee retention efforts, to include exit interviews, analysis of data to identify trends, and recommending corrective action, if needed, to executive management. Works directly with department managers on employee matters related to performance management, training and development, and coaching and counseling. Identifies skill gaps and recommends training to close the gaps. Creates or obtains training materials, conducts training as needed, and evaluates for effectiveness. Manages all aspects of employee benefits. Directs all aspects of hiring, to include working with hiring managers to develop job descriptions and job advertisements, screening and interviewing candidates, and on-boarding new employees. Develops and maintains a human resource information system that meets the organization's information needs. Participates on committees and special projects. Must be willing to work at a hands-on, detailed level when needed. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related field required; Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related field preferred. PHR or SPHR Certification required. Minimum of 8 years of experience in Human Resources with broad – based generalist experience required. Human Resources experience in manufacturing or production setting preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Bilingual in English and Spanish required. Knowledge of the principles and practices of Human Resources planning, management and administration Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint) and HRIS/Payroll systems Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other management staff, employees, and the general public. Skill in analysis, problem solving, decision-making and demonstrating initiative and good judgment. Skill in verbal and written presentation including the ability to present facts and recommendations effectively. Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations, meet time deadlines, and both adapt to and implement change as needed. Ability to be open minded, approachable, accept and act on constructive criticism, and accept others’ viewpoints. Ability to demonstrate confidentiality, integrity and ethics in all matters. Ability to learn quickly and function effectively with minimal supervision. Employment Type: Full Time Years Experience: 5 - 10 years
