We are looking for a high-performing Sales Director. The successful candidate will meet our customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives while executing the build-out of a dynamic team of representatives and account managers.
The team you build will sell cannabis extraction machines designed and assembled in Pittsburgh, PA that have become the Gold Standard by which supercritical CO2 technology is judged. You should be excited by and have ideas about the rise of the extract market in cannabis and how it has nearly overtaken smokable flower among the methods of ingestion.
Sales director responsibilities include developing key growth sales strategies, tactics, and action plans. Duties will include hitting annual targets, building and maintaining relationships, and understanding both consumer and business trends in a legal cannabis industry that is always shifting and looks very different from one locality to the next.
The ability of all sales agents to set the expectations of prospects and customers with empathy and honesty will mean the difference in our reputation and client happiness. It will be up to the sales director to train the entire team on best practices for maintaining these relationships.
Own and hit/exceed annual sales targets
Develop and execute a strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base
Develop plans for building and maintaining strong, long-lasting customer relationships
Stay informed about current production levels in the manufacturing facility
Develop a comprehensive understanding of the technical aspects of equipment and variables that affect performance
Develop a comprehensive understanding of the user experience for our machines, including detailed knowledge of the process of extracting essential oil from cannabis using supercritical CO2
Collaborate with the Director of Marketing to develop and maintain a consistent message about the benefits our machines
Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives
Effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals and presentations
Understand category-specific landscapes and trends, including the state-by-state legal status of cannabis and hemp oil manufacturing
Report on forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction of accounts
Proven sales executive experience, meeting or exceeding targets
Previous experience as a successful salesperson, ideally including experience selling highly technical equipment
Ability to learn new technical systems and translate knowledge into practical, consultative relationships with potential and ongoing customers
Proven understanding the business of growth markets, and cannabis in particular, with the ability to translate knowledge into practical, consultative relationships with potential and ongoing customers
Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level
Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services
Proven ability to position products against competitors
Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
BA/BS degree or equivalent
