Supports and coordinates operations and activities associated with visitor services. II. Essential Functions/Responsibilities: · Maintains a working knowledge of the attractions and services available in the area to visitors.· Coordinates all aspects of the distribution of information and verifies visitor information publications are well stocked and current. · Responds to visitor inquiries from mail, walk-in, telephone, and email promptly and in a courteous manner.· Assists with development of specialized visitor information as needed including displays.· Responsible for tracking all walk-in visitors and telephone inquiries.· Researches activities beneficial to the visitor and maintains a clean and safe work environment. · Ensures that visitor information publications are well stocked in the brochure racks; disposes of out-dated materials. · Assists with events in the Vista District as well as other districts as needed (Vista Lights, Tourism Week, FAM Tours, etc.). This includes setting up and breaking down prior to and after each event. · Utilizes point-of-sale system for retail store.· Assists with training new staff in Visitor Center operations and procedures. · Maintains a good working relationship with all other ECSC personnel to ensure a unified and effective promotional effort.· Other duties as assigned by Executive Director of CVB and/or Visitor Services Manager.III. IV. Education/Qualifications Required: · High School diploma or GED. Prefer Associates Degree with a minimum of 1 year of experience in customer service or retail management role. · Flexibility with schedule is a must for this position due to special events, holidays, and weekends. The Visitor Center is open 7 days a week and closed on designated holidays.· Must be aware you are a representative of Experience Columbia SC in appearance and attitude at all times.· Required to work at times with limited/no supervision.
