Job Description

We are currently seeking an Account Manager in Romulus MI!!

This company is a world-leading Tier One and Tier Two automotive supplier of quality products and services including cylinder liners, piston rings, and bearings for gasoline and diesel engines.

Summary: The ideal candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of sales strategies to promote long-term trusting relationships with our clients. This individual will oversee a portfolio of assigned customers, develop new business from existing clients, and actively seek new business opportunities. In this role, you will negotiate contracts, conduct presentations, and serve as the lead point of contact for all customer account management matters.

Compensation: $80,000 - $95,000, Plus quarterly bonuses

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain positive customer relationships with purchasing and engineering contacts through visits, meetings, and phone. Requires domestic and international travel occasionally
  • Manage existing customer accounts, conduct commercial negotiations, and pursue new opportunities
  • Be knowledgeable regarding current products, applications, trends, and key aspects of the company's relationship with each customer.
  • Understand the competitive environment, stay up to date on industry trends, and research new market opportunities.
  • Serve as the key user for customers’ supplier portals; coordinate with engineering, production, quality, supply chain, and other functions to ensure customer needs and goals are communicated and being met
  • Prepare and give presentations to existing and prospective customers highlighting company products and capabilities.
  • Prepare quotes as approved by management and consistent with customer requirements.
  • Responsible for other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of OEM Sales Account Management with automotive manufacturing required
  • Project Management experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and professionalism
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • Positive Attitude. Able to handle objections and negotiations.

  • Time management, organization, attention to detail, and planning skills
