The Clinical Lead coordinates and oversees activities of the clinical team members to ensure compassionate, effective, and efficient delivery of high-quality clinical care for patients.
A. Registered nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse currently licensed to practice in the state of Oklahoma preferred.
B. Minimum of two-year supervisory experience preferred
C. Minimum of three-years in the medical field required.
D. Experience in ambulatory care
E. Possess strong clinical and teaching skills.
F. Able to assume a leadership role in a team environment.
G. Strong interest in working with an interdisciplinary health team and culturally diverse patient population
A. Works in harmony with others exhibiting a positive attitude and a commitment to the basic mission of the health center.
B. Proactively assumes the responsibility for the standard of patient care and customer service in the clinical areas.
C. Able to effectively plan, oversee, direct, and evaluate all clinical activities in the clinical area. Appropriately delegates tasks to team members in order to maximize resources.
D. Assumes responsibility for and demonstrates ability to effectively organize and prioritize work and available resources to maintain efficient patient flow in the clinic.
E. Approving clinical staff timecards, PTO requests, and ensuring there is coverage for clinical team
F. Coordinates with Practice Administrator to complete performance evaluations for clinical team members.
G. Coordinates with Practice Administrator for hiring of clinical team.
H. Perform other duties as they relate to the clinical lead position in coordination with Practice Administration to include:
i. monthly employee rounding
ii. facilitating quarterly clinical team meeting
iii. communicating with other supervisors for an open communication within the facility
iv. delegating of duties as they arise through the day
v. AIDET and hand Hygiene audits
vi. Reordering of all inventory
vii. End of the year inventory
I. Effectively manages completion of routine clinic tasks. Coordinates with Practice Administrator to establish methods to ensure consistency in maintaining emergency supplies, stock medications, vaccines, forms, sterile instrument inventory, equipment, appropriate exam room inventory, etc.
J. Able to act as a primary resource in emergency situations.
K. Actions show commitment to team effort, works well with others, supports group objectives, and participates in staff meetings and team problem solving.
Direct and Indirect Patient Care/Clinic Responsibilities
A. Follows protocols and performs accurate and thorough work-ups and check-ins of all patients.
B. Accurately assesses current patient status as well as preventive health status and communicates needs to provider.
C. Initiates and provides accurate patient education based on assessment of patient needs and clinic standards of nursing care, and documents in patient record.
E. Anticipates the needs of providers related to patient visits and assists providers as needed.
F. Exhibits caring qualities consistent with the values of the Great Salt Plains Health Center.
G. Assumes role of patient advocate to ensure health needs are met, to include responding to patient phone messages and requests in a timely and professional manner.
H. Knowledgeable of and follows all established Infection Control guidelines and OSHA standards and participates in staff training events.
I. Performs approved laboratory testing, to include proper handling and labeling of all test samples, according to health center policy and procedure, and as allowed by CLIA guidelines.
J. Keeps patients and families informed of situations that affect the clinic visit, i.e., extended waiting times, seeing provider other than originally scheduled, etc.
K. Meets deadlines to maintain current license (if applicable) and required annual training, including online training courses.
L. Performs other duties incidental to work.
