About Great Oaks Charter Schools The Great Oaks (GO) Foundation is a non-profit organization with the mission of launching and supporting a network of 6-12th grade charter schools that prepare students for postsecondary success through high-dosage tutoring coupled with outstanding classroom instruction. What sets Great Oaks schools apart from other college preparatory charter schools is a high-dosage tutoring model provided by the Great Oaks Fellows, a selective cadre of recent college graduates who tutor and mentor every student in the school. This is a crucial strategy in Great Oaks schools to improve achievement and prepare teachers to work in our schools. The Great Oaks Foundation has successfully replicated this program in Newark, NJ; Bridgeport, CT; New York, NY and Wilmington, DE. We have launched a recent partnership with Baltimore Collegiate to launch a Great Oaks Fellow group at the site. A select group of the tutors at Great Oaks are enrolled in a Teacher Residency program that is being conducted in partnership with NYU's Steinhardt School of Education and Relay Graduate School of Education. To learn more about Great Oaks https://greatoakscharter.org/ About the Opportunity: The Great Oaks Foundation Program Manager, Education Data Systems & Strategy will support the network in developing, implementing, managing, and supporting student and staff data and information systems as well as integrated digital learning products used in the classroom. Reporting to the Senior National Director of Data Systems & Strategy, the Program Manager will work in close partnership with the Deputy Director of Data Systems & Strategy, as well as school-based Directors of Operations, Directors of Data, and instructional leaders. The Program Manager will be an integral part of realizing our goal to develop an integrated data system that seamlessly and securely connects our educational data in order to generate powerful analytics and visuals so that educators at every level of the Great Oaks organization can make data-driven decisions to improve student outcomes. They will also be crucial in supporting schools with the various components of enabling distance learning through the COVID-19 pandemic. The ideal candidate is a project manager with an excellent grasp of data and digital technologies that are commonly used in K-12 education. The candidate is someone who will thrive on an entrepreneurial and growing team, is a leader who anticipates system and database needs and proactively takes action before issues arise, and has demonstrated success working in schools, strong knowledge of technology systems for curriculum and design and implementation and the passion to lead and support others in a fast-paced environment. They are willing to go above and beyond each day to serve schools, and are ready to pitch in wherever they are needed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: G Suite Admin Management: Project manage GSuite Audit Action Plan Onboarding/Offboarding Account management Develop & maintain user roles & permissions Device Management Provision & Authorize extensions/applications/etc. Create all standard operating procedures for GSuite management and User Guides Technical Support (Computer Devices, GSuite, Digital Learning Products, TeachBoost, etc): Support schools with troubleshooting computer device & Gsuite issues (particularly during remote learning) Understand how all digital learning products (e.g. Khan, Rosetta Stone, Schoology, Google Classroom, MasteryConnect etc) work and interact to provide support to schools with using the programs correctly (working in tandem with the Data Analyst to ensure that setup and use is done correctly to enable interoperability) Support asset management implementation GoGuardian Management: Build a process for regularly managing and maintaining GoGuardian Admin web-filtering across school sites Manage requests from schools to whitelist websites for student use Collaborate with school operations and culture teams to address issues of misuse Project Management: Coordinate project design and implementations between Data, Teaching and Learning, Technology, School Ops and Leadership teams for collaborative efforts such as the implementation of Schoology, TeachBoost, Clever, etc. Support schools with project management of distance learning and other efforts that require technical and IT related implementation Manage vendor relationships to ensure that system requirements are implemented as expected and escalating technical issues for timely resolution Oversee grant reporting and deliverables for Michael and Susan Dell Foundation Grant as well as any future grants Manage partnership with CPRE for AmeriCorps grant Professional Development: Upon request from schools, develop and execute high-quality trainings to drive adoption of new technology, applications or protocols that improve how staff utilize and manage data Competencies and Qualifications The successful candidate has a demonstrated record of success with: Managing complex projects Excellent organization and project management skills, ideally with technology-based products such as GSuite Ability to manage multiple projects at once and effectively prioritize tasks to deliver results by given deadline Ability to communicate and collaborate with school leaders and school-based points of contact, as well as data and digital project partners and vendors Approaches challenges as a systems thinker: a determined problem-solver with ability to create and innovate scalable solutions on the go, sometimes with limited time and resources Making data and technology meaningful for users Expertly problem solves technical challenges associated with data and technology systems in schools Strong knowledge of K-12 school systems and understanding of ways in which core data and digital systems function and can be leveraged to improve outcomes for students Tech-savvy and able to troubleshoot and problem solve with students, teachers, leaders, and other members of the Great Oaks community Expertise with core Google Apps, including Sheets, Slides, Docs and Drive is required. Experience managing GSuite Admin Console preferred Ability to problem solve technical challenges associated with data and technology systems Ability to quickly learn the basics of unfamiliar specialized systems and software platforms Being a team player who does whatever it takes to provide optimal service Collaborative working style with a strong drive to learn and share knowledge Highly self-motivated and directed, with excellent attention to detail Excellent communicator with the ability to explain complex, technical ideas to a non-technical audience. Strong written and verbal skills required Ability to approach challenges as a systems thinker: a determined problem-solver with ability to create and innovate scalable solutions on the go, sometimes with limited time and resources The successful candidate will also: Be efficient and organized Have a do-whatever-it-takes attitude including a willingness to work occasionally on the weekend or in the evening Possess an exceptional ability to respond well to feedback and implement it immediately Be comfortable with a dynamic, fast-paced environment of rapid change and evolvement Be willing to travel up to 50% of time to school and partner sites, contingent on current COVID safety policies Compensation Great Oaks provides a competitive compensation and benefits package; exact compensation will vary based on experience and education.
