Position Overview: Under direction from Providers, DON and Nurse Manager the Registered Nurse delivers care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Nurses collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes. Nurses effectively interact with patient and significant others, while maintaining the standard of professional nursing. Hospital Nurses provide care for pediatric and adult patients before and after surgical procedures, and with a broad range of medical conditions.
Shifts: REGISTRY- Registry employees are hired to work irregular shifts on an as-needed, on-call basis only. Registry employees are not eligible for benefits, except 401K as required by the state or federal law.
Responsibilities of Hospital Nurses include but are not limited to:
Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.Prepares and administers and records prescribed medications. Reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a licensed registered nurse. Educates patients on surgical procedures, medications and conditions. Records patients' medical information and vital signs Provides bedside care for a wide variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery patient how to manage their illness/injury, by explaining: post-treatment home care needs Changes dressings, inserts catheters, starts IVs Prepares equipment and aids physician during examination and treatment of patient Responds to life-saving situations based upon nursing standards and protocol Participates in discharge planning Utilizes time management skills Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms. Follows facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment. Follows Unusual Occurrence Protocol. Respects cultural and religious practices of patients. Upholds HIPAA regulations. Punctual and dependent for assigned/confirmed shifts
Minimum Education and/or Experience Required:
Education: Accredited Nursing Program Degree
Knowledge: Basic Nursing Principles and Procedures; Med/ Surgical Nursing experience preferred; Pediatric Nursing experience preferred
Skills: Basic office skills, IV skills
Additional Experience and/or Qualifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS certification to be completed with 6 months of hire
Licensure/Certification Required: Montana RN Licensure
