Job Summary:

The VP, National Pediatric Dentistry is responsible for establishing GEDC as a center of excellence for Pediatric Dentistry that increases the companys reputation amongst pediatric care providers and enables GEDC to attract top quality providers and patients. The VP, National Pediatric Dentistry provides operational leadership, direction and administration of GEDC Pediatric Dental Practices, ensuring operational and financial effectiveness through its dental office Operations Managers, Treatment Coordinators, Patient Coordinators and Dental Assistants including partnership with the regional Clinical Partners (CPs) in provider hiring, placement and relocation, and evaluation of providers from an operational perspective. The VP, National Pediatric Dentistry improves the financial health of the dental practices through the Five GEDC Drivers and recruiting and developing the best talent. As an expert in all GEDC systems, the VP, National Pediatric Dentistry identifies issues within a practice by monitoring schedules and key reports and then coaches and trains staff in the region to correct the situation. The VP, National Pediatric Dentistry works closely with the VP, National Orthodontics and the regional Orthodontic Strategy Managers to build and deepen referral patterns from the pediatric practices to the orthodontic practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

       Sets the vision and key components of GEDCs Pediatric Dentistry program

o  Develops a compelling GEDC Pediatric Dentistry program vision and communicates it internally to educate GEDC providers about the program offering.

o  Identifies existing Pediatric Dentistry capabilities that are working well and builds a roadmap for adding new capabilities.

       Builds the Pediatric Dentistry P&L

o  Partners with Finance to develop the full financials for the Pediatric Dentistry program by region.

o  Establishes the plan to develop the Pediatric Dentistry practice including revenue and Practice Income (PI) uptick with current talent, replacing existing talent and adding additional capabilities

o  Identifies options to improve the P&L quarter-over-quarter

       Develops internal guidelines and builds capability

o  Develops (or adapts existing) processes (e.g. referral), best practices, training and measurements

o  Sets the Pediatric Dentistry program growth agenda by region and leads the recruitment of key talent by market, in partnership with the regional Clinical Partners and Vice Presidents, Operations.

o  Works with the clinical team to improve procedure and schedule times

o  Works with Payer Relations and represents GEDC in discussions that improve reimbursement

o  Partners with the VP, National Orthodontics to ensure collaboration in treatment sequence and referrals that result in superior clinical outcomes.

o  Reviews the application of tools, technologies and techniques to deliver better service quality and outcomes

       Sets and executes a talent development agenda to advance the Pediatric Dentistry program

o  Assesses the maturity profile of each pediatric dentist by market and defines development options as needed

o  Organizes doctor study clubs and partners with the GEDC National Doctor Panel across the regions to review complex cases and share expertise and best practices with  GEDC pediatric dentists to increase knowledge

o  Reviews existing GEDC Continuing Education (CE) curricula and, where necessary, engages third parties to augment curricula to deepen the knowledgebase of the GEDC pediatric dentists.

       Reputation Building

o  Invites local specialists from outside of GEDC to join periodic reviews and present their cases

o  Builds relationships with pediatric practices in the local market and develops partnerships

o  Publishes papers or presents at appropriate external forums

       Program Promotion

o  Partners with Marketing to devise a strategy to promote the GEDC Pediatric Dentistry program internally and externally.

o  Evaluates local marketing opportunities to build awareness of the Pediatric Dentistry program and collaborates with Marketing and the regional leadership teams to execute.


Required Skills/Abilities:

       Proven track record of developing highly productive working relationships through mentoring and training

       Strong computer skills including: Microsoft Office and other business analytics systems

       Superior customer service skills and successful track record of delivering an exceptional patient experience

       Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills

       Ability to work independently and professionally in a fast paced environment

       Experience with managing budgets and delivering information from P&L statements and delivering strong results and growth

       Track record of successfully resolving a variety of level of conflicts across the organization and fixing troubled situations

       Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information in a manner that inspires confidence and trust

       Successful record of managing multiple projects with correct prioritization and time management skills

       Ability to manage and properly communicate to providers

       Ability to develop metrics to examine productivity and lead to a better understanding of needs for expansion.


Education & Experience:

       5 -7 years of pediatric dental office operations management experience

       3-5 years supervisory experience of leading teams
