The Opportunity

As part of the Customer Experience and Sales Enablement organization, the Solution Delivery Engineer position will support the delivery of large data products, the implementation of APIs, and other products to current and prospective customers. This organization is responsible for pre-sales technical sales support, post-sales customer integration, implementation and training, and ongoing customer support. Day to day responsibilities of this position include modifying delivery software in order to support custom deliveries and new product forms, automating new delivery mechanisms and identifying opportunities to improve customer success and operational effectiveness and efficiency. This position will report to the Sr Director, Customer Experience and Sales Enablement and will work closely with both the Sales and Product organizations. This position requires a minimum of 2+ years work experience developing in Java and Scala. The ideal candidate will be team and customer service oriented, innovative, open-minded to the solution set and driven to deliver solutions that meet or exceed the requirements. 

What You Will Do:

  • Modify delivery software in order to support custom deliveries and new product forms
  • Automate new delivery mechanisms
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer success and operational effectiveness and efficiency
  • Interact with clients regarding data delivery communications, answering questions about the data delivered, etc.


  • At least 2 years’ experience of Java and/or Scala or a combination of both 
  • Good SQL skills and work experience - ability to write moderately complex SQL queries and a desire to increase their SQL skills
  • Working experience with Spark preferred
  • Working experience with Linux
  • Working experience with languages other than Scala/Java such as Python, JavaScript, or R
  • Basic knowledge of QA processes
  • Customer facing experience is a "nice to have". 
  • Demonstrated experience working in AWS Cloud environments and extensive knowledge of AWS cloud functions and roles
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze projects, develop tasks and analyze task requirements for completeness
  • Demonstrated ability to work both on your own and in a team environment to effectively complete tasks with limited guidance 
  • Demonstrated attention to detail in following operational processes and documenting procedures and completion of tasks
  • Evidence of being a quick and eager learner and a willingness to jump in with two feet to make sure that the job gets done well
  • Experience working in an agile-based methodology preferred
  • Experience working with location data is a plus
