As an Assistant Dining Room Supervisor, you will be responsible for enhancing the overall Resident dining experience through the provision of exceptional oversight and culinary training to dining staff employees and to uphold service standards of all menu offerings through multiple dining venues. This is to be handled in The Sterling Touch® professional, friendly, courteous, helpful and timely manner, resulting in a very high level of satisfaction for Residents and their guests. This position is under the general guidance of the Dining Manager in accordance with Community standards, processes, procedures, practices, and philosophies.
Responsibilities:
- The Assistant Dining Room Supervisor participates in Start Sterling! line up every day.
- The Assistant Dining Room Supervisor greets the residents, guests, fellow employees and vendors in a friendly and courteous manner.
- The Assistant Dining Room Supervisor assists in onboarding, E-Menu training and service training of dining staff.
- The Assistant Dining Room Supervisor ensures uniform and grooming standards of all dining staff.
- Provide and direct quick, efficient and pleasant service to residents, guests and staff.
- Assist in the delivery of culinary activities for all dining venues: Bistro, Casual, Formal, Luminations memory care and Club Room, as well as special events and private functions.
- Adhere to techniques of food presentation, storage of foods and food quality standards with direction of Dining Manager and Executive Chef.
- Perform duties of servers, food runner or host during deficient staffing.
- Ensure a prepared, properly staffed and efficient dining service for all dining venues.
- Ensure menus are neat, clean and posted in a timely fashion for residents and guests.
- Manage guest reservations, holiday reservations and assist with staffing and preparedness.
- Ensure E-menu is maintained for each dining venue and dining period.
- Ensure all dining venues and tabletops are presented using the Grand Living standards.
- Ensure all culinary equipment is always cleaned and maintained in good working order.
- Ensure dining venues are always safe and sanitary and in compliance with local and state regulatory requirements.
Specific Position Requirements:
- The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Ability to read, write and understand the English language in order to direct, manage, hire and train kitchen staff, complete requisitions, read recipes and communicate with other employees as well as Residents and their guests.
- Sufficient manual dexterity of hands and arms in order to use all kitchen equipment and utensils (e.g. knives, spoons spatulas, tongs, slicers, etc.)
- Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull and work continuously without sitting for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift or carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to read, write and understand the English language in order to direct, manage, hire and train kitchen staff, complete requisitions, read recipes and communicate with other employees as well as Residents and their guests.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED, required.
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Culinary or Apprenticeship program, preferred.
Experience:
- Three or more years with Food & Beverage in country club, fine dining, restaurant and/or upscale Senior living hospitality experience, required.
Schedule:
- Full-Time Hours - Mornings
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
