Job Description

Job Title: Sr. Manager, Operations

Reports To: President Job

Summary: The Sr. Manager, Operations will plan and oversee all operations of the Company’s warehouse, logistics, and recycling functions to make sure that established goals and objectives are achieved on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Leads a team of warehouse managers/supervisors (Philadelphia, PA; Tipp City, OH; and New Kensington, PA) • Hires and trains new employees • Coordinates needs with contingent labor provider Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of assigned team

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Plans and organizes daily activities in conjunction with the warehouse manager/supervisor at each location
  • Measures productivity by creating and analyzing key performance metrics related to labor efficiency, transportation costs, throughput, etc.
  • Ensures that the Company’s drivers are routed efficiently
  • Ensures that the warehouse production teams meet established goals
  • Analyzes labor needs versus inbound and outbound volume; adjusts accordingly
  • Oversees warehouse inventory levels; ensures items are being properly accounted for, classified, and stored in the correct locations through cyclical inventory audits
  • Coordinates with other functional departments, such as sales, to ensure that the Company meets and exceeds customer expectations
  • Establishes and oversees Company’s safety programs, facility maintenance and inspection programs, and fleet/trailer maintenance programs
  • Establishes short- and long-term operational goals; holds team accountable for performance through coaching and mentoring
  • Assists in preparing operational updates, forecasts, and budgets
  • Owns and manages operational expense line items on the Company’s P&L

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent managerial and supervisory skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Extensive knowledge of operations and production management
  • Innovative and creative problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to operate independently with broad guidance
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Understanding of P&L statements; demonstrated experience in managing expense line items
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Financial Management Software, and Inventory Management Software

Travel: 25-50%; as needed to support other warehouse locations

Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree in Business Management, Logistics, or Organizational Leadership; Bachelor’s preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in leading and managing multi-site, diverse operations that include warehousing, production, and logistics
  • Preferred experience in waste and recycling operations

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to move and lift to 25 pounds
  • Ability to work in warehouse environments with temperatures that vary depending on seasonality
