Senior Project Manager (Heavy Marine Construction)
GPAC is looking for a professional Construction Manager with a background in Structures, Ports, and Marine infrastructure. In this role, you’ll leverage your deep construction management and engineering knowledge of port or marine infrastructure, and/or waterfront construction to partner with our client and subcontractors to address a variety of construction issues relating to utilities, site civil, facilities, marine structures, environmental impact as well as schedule, budget and critical deadlines.
Essential Job Functions:
- Analyze plans and specifications
- Perform site visit(s) and meets with owners and designers if required
- Assist with takeoffs, budgets, estimates
- Establishes means and methods of construction and performs engineering analyses to support means and methods
- Providing document, schedule, and plan reviews during both the preconstruction (design) and construction phases of the contract
- Participating in the bid and award process
- Addressing and monitoring change on projects
- Participating in briefing a Dispute Review Board (DRB), if used
- Managing the claims and conflict resolution process
- Coordinating with tenants, other outside agencies, and stakeholders as directed and authorized by the Port
- Coordinating closeout services for each project
- Before award, assisting in pre-proposal conferences and participating in pre-award meetings
- Assuring that projects are constructed in strict compliance with environmental regulatory permits
- Prepare costs analysis for certain or all portions of the projects
- Solicit quotes from subcontractors and vendors
- Prepare construction schedule and performs cash-flow analyses
- Close out bids and assists in preparation of supporting documentation
- From time to time, visits projects, and prepares costs analyses
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering or related area of study; preferred areas of emphasis in construction management or engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in managing marine, infrastructure, and/or heavy civil construction projects.
- Specific experience in contract change management, construction claims tracking and claims resolution.
- Working knowledge of Construction softwares, Microsoft Office, Etc.
