About the Role

As the Sales Operations Specialist at Govplace, you are responsible for supporting various functions in sales operations to ensure overall success in solving customer mission problems. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and understanding customer needs, working directly with our partners, federal agencies, and internal teams to deliver customer requirements and needs. You will be focused on achieving the highest levels of customer success as defined by the goals and requirements of our customers. Your customers rely on you to manage and schedule your tasks to deliver timely, efficient, and effective services to help them achieve their agency mission. To deliver on this goal, you must be a self-starter with excellent documentation and organizational skills. You are not intimidated by ambiguity, instead you thrive in an environment where your curiosity and creativity help to lead collaborative discussions that result in long term solutions.


  • Lead the proposals process, coordinating proposal efforts between sales, engineering, and project management teams.
  • Produce high quality and compliant proposals delivered to our customers on time.
  • Proactively track and manage backorder logs, working with vendors on estimated lead times/tracking and providing updates to customers.
  • Provide backorder reports to the Sales and Accounting teams, forecasting GAAP and monthly revenue recognition.
  • Provide support for the sales and GWAC teams, reviewing and submitting technical refresh requests to add items to catalog across our various contract vehicles.
  • Develop an effective working relationship with other departments across the organization.
  • Competently work on multiple, competing project requirements at the same time.
  • Respond promptly to all customer requests and provide timely solutions to customer needs.
  • Build long-term relationships to meet or exceed customer satisfaction and loyalty.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years proposal experience.
  • Advance knowledge and experience in utilizing MS Office Skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in a federal environment is preferred
  • Active desire to learn and grow contract management and compliance skills. Not afraid to ask questions, conduct independent research and demonstrate intellectual curiosity.
  • Excellent communication skills, including with technical team members, business team members, executives, customers, and partners; listening for clarity and understanding.
  • Results driven, with excellent customer relationship, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to be both competitive and collaborative.
  • Must understand the concept of revenues, margins, and labor cost.

  • Strong comprehension skills for understanding needs and developing and applying solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and switch between tasks quickly.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and change.
