Job Summary:

CE Technician I's are responsible for the delivery,installation, repair, and maintenance of home appliance products.


Essential andPrimary Functions:

  • Deliver and install various home appliances, such as refrigerators, washers, and dryers. Proper installation requires, among other things, the technician to test the operation of the appliance and make adjustments accordingly. For example, ensure the appliances are level, adjust doors, connect water lines to water pipes (for icemakers and water dispensers in refrigerators) and hoses to water pipes (for washing machines), ignite and adjust pilot light on gas stoves, and examine valves and burners for gas leakage and flame
  • Repair or replace defective components on a variety of appliances
  • Maintain appliances in accordance with applicable home warranty service program
  • Dismantle and reassemble appliances to diagnose and troubleshoot problems
  • Advise and educate customer regarding use and care of appliance and provide customer with emergency service number
  • Ability to work independently
  • Provide technology service and support to customers
  • Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction
  • Ability to work with HAZMAT materials and with Acetylene torches
  • Provide technology service and support to customers
  • Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction
Other Functions
  • Inspects vehicle pre and post-trips
  • Monitor the timely maintenance and repair of the vehicle
  • Use provided handheld device to handle and close assigned work orders
  • Continuously learns about relevant new technology

Minimum JobRequirements:

  • 6 plus months of experience within Appliance Repair
  • Prefer 6 plus months of experience with Refrigerator repair
  • At least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
  • High school diploma or GED required

Minimum Knowledge,Skills and Abilities:

  • Possess a valid driver license
  • Working knowledge of hand tools and power tools
  • Working knowledge of an Acetylene torch
  • Working knowledge of HAZMAT materials
  • Basic computer skills and comfortable operating electronic devices
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Available to work a flexible schedule (weekends / holidays / evenings)
Certificates,Licenses, Registration and Requirements:
  • At least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
  • High school diploma or GED required
All States:
  • EPA 601 Type I Certification is Preferred
Texas Only:
  • TexasRefrigeration Tech registration or certification (must be active). This isrenewed annually.
  • TexasAppliance Installer license (must be active). This is renewed annually.
Physical Demands:
  • Able to lift to 80 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Comfortableworking in customers homes
  • Comfortableworking outdoors and driving in all types of weather conditions
